MetroConnects (Metro) is a special purpose district, governed by a seven-member Commission that operates and maintains 1,400 miles of sanitary sewer mains within Greenville County, South Carolina. Metro is seeking a successful candidate to fill the available full-time Foreman position.

The Locator position performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled general maintenance, construction and locating activities.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize work activities by reviewing all locate request to determine travel route and
  timelines.
• Read and understand utility maps, prints, and utilize Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
  to assist in identification of underground sewer lines.
• Mark the location of underground sewer lines assets on roadways, and other locations, as
  appropriate and needed, using required spray paints, flags and other equipment.
• Respond to emergency duty call as required.
• Operate survey grade Global Positioning System (GPS) units, Sonde units, etc.
• Contact and communicate with (as necessary) contractors, homeowners, local builders and
  developers etc.
• Pick up supplies and equipment as required.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma
• Ability to research, using the internet, and ability to read maps.
• Possess a valid South Carolina driver’s license.

Compensation

Salary is negotiable based on experience. Metro offers a competitive benefits package including SC Retirement and comprehensive health, dental and vision insurance. No relocation assistance is provided. A background check and drug screening is a condition of employment and Metro also conducts random drug screening during employment.
